1968 - Pointe Noire

We have been operating in the republic of Congo since 1968 in the full spirit of our “Dual Flag” approach which means that our operational activities are supported by community development projects. In 2016 we produced around 98,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day: operating in the conventional and deep-water offshore, off the coast of Pointe-Noire, as well as onshore. In December 2016 we launched the second development phase of the Nené Marine field, in the Marine XII offshore block, one of Eni’s eight biggest projects. The project has been developed very quickly, one year, and ahead of the initial forecast.
